Health and Physical Education

Health and Physical Education is considered an integral part of the school curriculum, playing an important role in preparing students for their adult life.
Year 8
In year 8 students complete one full semester of HPE. This program is designed to allow students to learn the basic principles of fitness and anatomy in order to develop lifelong positive habits around physical activity.
Year 9
Every student in year 9 will complete two semesters of HPE. This program targets specific personal development areas relevant to students as they enter into their early teens.
Year 10
In year 10 HPE is an elective. This program is specifically designed to provide students with a taste of different subjects that align with our senior courses of study.

Senior Health and Physical Education Courses

Physical Education (OP Pathway)
Physical Education would interest students who are physically active, enjoy a range of sports, participate in sport as a coach, or would like to further their knowledge of the physical culture of Australia.
Recreational Studies ( TER – Tertiary Entrance Rank Pathway)
In Recreational studies students are offered a unique opportunity to experience the challenge and fun of active participation in physical activity while developing beneficial vocational and life skills.
Certificate III Fitness (VET Pathway)
This course of study at the very basic level qualifies you as a gym instructor and provides you with the foundations of knowledge to become a sought after fitness professional.
