Internet access at school

Once students have their laptop ready to bring to school, they can join our secure, custom built Wi-Fi network.

What are the costs?

The school charges a small fee of $50 per student per year.  This is to support:
  • increased demand on our internet
  • employing more IT Support staff
  • administration of secure lockers throughout the year
  • Increased technical support with devices
  • access to free chargers and loan devices
This is non-refundable should the student opt out or leave the school.

School technicians can inspect devices but usually cannot perform repairs to devices. The manufacturer or computer vendor must handle all hardware or software faults. Most manufacturers will not cover deliberate damage to a machine and it is the responsibility of the device owner to ensure the safety of the device.

A Wi-Fi network for the future

Coming in late 2020/2021: Park Ridge SHS will be the first high school in South East Region (EQ) to overhaul it's Wi-Fi network with new, state-of-the-art Wi-Fi technology to provide an ultra-fast, modern internet network.

This upgrade will commence with planning in September 2020, with works to be carried out during the December-January break and ready for the start of the 2021 school year.

Park Ridge State High School is funding the project at a cost of $360,000 to become the leading high school in the Logan area for 21st century learning.
