Park Ridge State High School offers interested students an opportunity to participate in a school based robotics programme!
This involves using VEX robotics equipment so students are designing and building robots using design/engineering, basic programming and specifically creating a robot to suit the National Challenge for each year.
In addition to the national competition, several local events are organised throughout the year.
Each year a new field and game element is used at national level and participating teams must practice and train in order to participate. Teaching staff will work with the students during school time, at lunch time and after school. Students who commit are asked to attend events (normally on a Saturday) to represent the school and compete on a local, state and even national level. There is no cost for any of these events and use of the robots.
Students who are nominated or are selected to participate in the school robotics programme must commit to supporting their team members at school and the local events for the year. Any student who consistently fails to support their robotics team, may be removed from the programme and his or her place offered to another school student.
